As proposed at The Republic of Pemberley (RoP), this is an community created for and by Pemberleans who wish to keep in touch and discuss everything Austen once the boards at RoP close.
We will follow the same rules that operated at RoP. So please:
Other recommendations migh be added in the future.
Thank you.
We will follow the same rules that operated at RoP. So please:
- If you would like to join choose the same user name (and real name) you had overthere and no courtesy titles and no last names either.
- Keep all the courtesy and civility that as Pemberleans we are used to. No typing in capital letters as it means you are shouting, and do not correct grammar, since not all of us are native English speakers, but English is used as our common tongue.
- On a similar note regarding courtesy, like in RoP, we will try to keep this as a community safe for children, so bear in mind that when considering the subjects to be discussed and the language.
- Do not include pictures in your posts (at least not for the moment) for they take space and bandwith and we are working on a limited space free hosting service.
- Also, please do not promote your own personal sites/blogs or commercial ventures overhere. You might include it in your profile, but that is all.
- We do not discuss sports, politics or religion here.
- On a similar note, we do not discuss the personal lives of actores, artists, authors, academics, musicians, celebrities, crew, etc and we abstain from making rude remarks about them. Respect the privacy of others as we cherish our own.
- If you want to participate in the boards and threads, please read carefully all the replies that have been posted, in order to avoid any repetition. Do not to open a new thread on a subject already under discussion, either.
- Again, following RoP's policies, we do not provide help for homework, nor for research for writers period fiction. When discussing the life and times of Jane Austen, we should provide reliable sources.
Other recommendations migh be added in the future.
Thank you.
